Well done to Willie Stobie who completed Race 1 of this 3 race duathlon series. After last year's series being devastated by the winter weather, it appears that there was a nail-biting prelude to this year's first event too! Traffic lights and a diversion at road works under the M9 bridge only yards from the start and the roof being blown off the Kirkliston Leisure Centre in the New Year storms, left organisers believing they may have to cancel this event. However the traffic lights were removed and the road swept by the road works contractor, and temporary roof repairs completed the weekend before the race, allowed the race to proceed as planned!
