PORTOBELLO PROMENADE 4 MILE ROAD RACE. THURSDAY 18 JUNE 2009

On a sunny but windy June evening Murdo Macleod took part in the annual Portobello Running Club 4 Mile Race. This event is an enter-on-the-day race with an excellent supporting children's 1 Mile Fun Run starting 30 minutes before the main event at 1915. The race registration and finish area was changed this year from Towerbank Primary playground area to the Indoor Bowling Club at Westbank Street/ Portobello Promenade – probably for the better. The race was exposed as you might expect but a great sense of achievement on completion; enjoyable, well marshalled, friendly and very good value at £5 for SAL members. Thanks to PRC for an enjoyable, well organised event. Thanks also to Jo Forbes and Millie for the support and photographs.
