LASSWADE 10 MILE ROAD RACE

MID-LOTHIAN, SUNDAY 1st MARCH 2009

A bright sunny day welcomed a bigger than usual field to this well established and popular early season event. While the humply route can be challenging, Murdo, Alan, Aicha, Brendan and Adrienne enjoyed the day. Thanks to Nicola for the photos and to Lasswade Athletics Club for an excellent event.

Murdo said: My first race of the year but my third time at this event. It’s a challenging and humply course but a great feeling of satisfaction on completion. This year the weather was near perfect; dry and sunny, bit cold but you soon warmed up. The route’s changed over the years but still takes in the drop in to and the steep climb out of Roslin Glen after 2-3 miles. It’s basically uphill thereafter to mile 7 before dropping down to the finish back in Rosewell, all on quiet back roads. The route is well organised and marshalled, the run efficient but friendly and, as a Brucey bonus, the tea and cakes at the end are excellent! See you next year.
