HERIOT-WATT UNIVERSITY 5KM TRAIL RACE
RICCARTON, EDINBURGH. SATURDAY 21 MARCH 2009
Gillian Grant wrote "ERN was represented at the Heriot Watt 5k on Saturday by Adrienne (Murray) and my-self. Never done it before. Enter on the day. £2 at Heriot Watt Sports Centre at Riccarton, changing facilities etc are great and race itself is a lovely scenic run through the woods of the university. About 200 runners, most of whom were young and fast. Didn't expect anything at the end for such a cheap race but got a bottle of water, a biscuit and a bag of jelly babies. A pleasant surprise. It was a manual timing system which won't appear on the web for a while but I managed 28+ and was very chuffed since I've done almost no running for the last six months. Good day out for anybody with a spare Saturday next year."
