RESOLUTION ASSET MANAGEMENT WOMENS 10km

BELLAHOUSTON PARK, GLASGOW

SUNDAY 18th MAY 2008

Gillian said: "As a wee warm up to the Edinburgh Marathon Adrienne and I did the Glasgow womans 10k last week-end.  I take my hat off to the organisers.  Over 10,000 runners and it goes like clock work.  A wave start system ensures minimum congestion.  Large parts of the course are through Pollock Park so it's more like a run in the country than an urban 10k.  Amazing support at the end.  Last km is a solid deep line of male support,  shouting and cheering their women folk on.  The official T shirt is sent out in advance to give runners the chance to wear it on the day, big chunky medal and chocolates in the goodie bag as well as water, banana, cereal bar and loads of leaflets.  I did it in 53.42 and Adrienne in 1.01.04.  As an added bonus it was a lovely day so many folk including us took advantage of the coffee and food stalls that were there and had an impromptu picnic."
