Gillian said: "For the 5th year running I headed over to Fife on a bright and sunny morning to do the Dunfermline Half Marathon. Numbers and chips are collected from the pavilion in the park on the day. There's left luggage facilities and a small expo to wander round prior to heading to the start line which is two minutes walk away from the pavilion. The course starts by heading out the park, run round Dunfermline for six and a half miles ending up back at the park then do the same loop all over again.
It's quite a challenging course with a nasty little hill in the park and a lot of gentle undulating stuff as we ran through the housing estates of Dunfermline. It's not the most scenic course I've ever run. Weather was very warm for running in but this meant loads of support in the park as we ran through it for the last mile. And the commentator was very good at name checking us as we headed down the finishing straight. It had a nice buzzy atmosphere. Goodie bag was a banana, a mars bar and water but the T shirt and medal were good quality. Those of us who had also run the Edinburgh half (which was organised by same company) got a rather smart pewter pendant on a leather string as a memento. A nice touch. My time was 2 02 54 which I was quite happy with. Couple of photos attached. No ERN vest. Was in the wash! So I took the waist coat instead!! West Lothian half in a fortnight is next."
