25th ANNIVERSARY ABERDOUR FESTIVAL - SUNDAY 27th JULY 2008

DONKEY BRAE 2 and 7 MILE RACE, SILVER SANDS PARK, ABERDOUR, FIFE

(Silver Sands Aberdour and the aptly named Rocket the Barn Owl)

An lovely sunny day (unusual for 2008 but not for this run) saw ERNs gathering for this popular event which includes a choice of a 2 or 7 mile race. A scenic run out through Aberdour to Dalgety Bay and back; down to the shore and fields, out and back on a variety of cycle-tracks, park roads and streets before the climb up the infamous Donkey-Brae (not as bad as you think) to finish at the festival/farmers market and marquee where a good crowd welcomed all home. This was followed by a picnic at Silver Sands which is within walking distance of the finish. Many thanks to Andy for his grocery and cooking skills on the day - much appreciated.

Well done to all that took part, to those that supported and also thanks to Aberdour Festival (celebrating their 25th Anniversary) for a great event. See you next year.
